HBcAb Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is a disposable rapid device designed to qualitatively detect hepatitis B core antibodies (HBcAb) in whole blood, serum, plasma, or fecal samples
Hepatitis B is a systemic disease that mainly involves the liver. Most cases of acute hepatitis B are caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV) or other hepatitis B viruses. Hepatitis B core antibody is a protein secreted by cells infected with HBV. Its presence indicates a high level of virus in the blood and is an indicator of carrier contagiousness. If this test is negative but the patient is known to be HBcAb positive, it indicates that the virus level in the blood is low or HBV has integrated into the host DNA.
